A very warm welcome to Campan Castle!
Holiday on an organic farm in South Tyrol
Campan Castle is situated at the heart of the province and is thus the ideal place from which to get to know South Tyrol, Bressanone (Brixen), the Dolomites, and in short the country and its people. The castle, which is a protected monument, is approximately 3 km south of the old diocesan town of Bressanone in a thoroughly peaceful location surrounded by a park, orchards and pastures.

Bressanone can also be reached along a flat cycle path (which runs from Munich to Venice) along the River Eisack in approximately 15 minutes. Cycles can be hired from the farm. The Dolomites, Val Gardena (Gröden), Bolzano and Innsbruck are all between 30 minutes to an an hour away.
The neighbouring farm (200 m away) has a riding stables, which offers both riding lessons and guided hacks. In the summer months in particular, the atmosphere in Bressanone and its surroundings is particularly delightful. In winter there are 5 ski resorts within a radius of 25 km from here. The Plose ski lifts are only 7 km away. Since 2003 Bressanone has been home to the region’s largest indoor leisure pool.
In the southern end of the castle four exclusive apartments for 2, 4 and 6 people (additional children’s cots available) have been recently ecologically renovated. Bed linen and a fully equipped kitchen are included. Home grown and home made produce, such as fruit, vegetables, jams and apple juices are available in season.
Pets are welcome.
Campan Castle is especially suitable for families, as it is well away from busy roads while still being located at the heart of the region. For children there is a large (90m2) playroom. There are funny and interesting books, drawing and painting equipment and lots of games. There is also a play kitchen, table football and table tennis. So even when it is raining there is always something interesting to do.
On a large terrace there is a barbecue for you to use; you are also welcome to pick your own herbs from the herb garden and enjoy the wonderful aroma of freshly gathered rosemary or basil, for example. There is a large sandpit complete with toys and for the parents lounge chairs that can be placed on the lawn or under the large trees.
When it comes to leisure activities, you are also welcome to borrow a sledge or Nordic walking poles from us.

Our History
Campan Castle was originally a farmstead belonging to the prince bishops of Bressanone, but for many centuries has been owned by the family. In 1860 the castle was partly destroyed by a devastating fire and rebuilt in the spirit of the turn of the century.
Today the estate is run as an organic farm, with the main crops being fruit and vegetables grown according to strict organic guidelines. Apple varieties such as Topaz, Pilot, Evelina and also vines have been planted in the last few years, the first time in over 100 years that vines have been grown at Campan. The types Solaris and Salvigner Gris have been chosen, which are approved of by wine connoisseurs of Eisack Valley wine.
